The Florida Attorney General presides as the highest ranking legal officer in the state, leading the Florida Department of Legal Affairs. Primary responsibilities of the position include, the enforcement of state consumer protection and antitrust laws, civil and criminal prosecution, serving as legal counsel representing the state in cases of litigation, and developing legal opinions at the request of public officials. Additionally, the attorney general serves in the governorâs cabinet and provides advisement on the constitutionality of different pieces of legislation. The attorney general serves a four-year term, and there is no limit on the number of terms served. The salary for this position is $128,872 per year.
