The commissioner of revenue is the chief assessing officer for the county, determining the value of property for tax purposes. The commissioner is responsible for identifying property and its owners, listing property values on the assessment roll, and applying legal exemptions.
Application GuidelinesIf you would like to be included on the ballot for county office, follow these three steps. 1) Contact the county general registrar. The registrar’s office can provide information about the availability of filing papers and answer questions regarding nominating petitions and other ballot procedures. 2) Arrange to pick up required paperwork. 3) Return your completed paperwork within the designated filing window. The filing deadline listed is for independent candidates. Candidates who wish to be run as part of a major party must meet earlier deadlines in order to participate in the primary election.
