The office of Soil and Water Conservation District is non-partisan and district wide. Candidates are elected in a general election to a 4-year term. The Hillsborough Soil & Water Conservation District's supervisors serve as a local unit of government, which prioritize and assist in the delivery of services provided by USDA/NRCS at the local level.

Application Guidelines
In order to be a candidate for this position, please follow these three simple steps: 1) Contact the election administrator (for city positions the city clerk, and for all others, the Hillsborough Supervisor of Elections) make sure you qualify for the position. Certain positions have residency and other requirements. 2) Fill out the necessary documents, including the Appointment of Campaign Treasurer and Designation of Campaign Depository (DS-DE9) Statement of Candidacy (DS-DE 84 form) with the qualifying officer, and Candidate Oath of Nonpartisan Office (DS-DE 25). Kennedy Blvd., 16th floor, Tampa, Florida 33602. You must pay a $25 dollar fee for your petition of candidacy. The office is open Mondays to Fridays from 8am to 5pm EST. Be mindful about the filing window as it is open for only five consecutive days sometime in June, and the dates vary based on the election date.
